Industry Supporters to Students & School

The following persons and organisations have provided assistance to the UNSW School of Mining Engineering. This assistance has contributed to enhancing the learning process and educational experience of students in the mining engineering program. Ultimately the improved quality of education will contribute to the sustainability of the mining industry and ensure the future needs of the community for minerals will be met.The various contributors have been grouped according to the nature of their contribution.

  • Stan Sawyer Prize - awarded for best performance in an Honours thesis on a topic related to coal mining

Beneficial Fund

  • Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd. An educational fund established to support the mining engineering program at UNSW.  Specifically, the Fund provides on an annual basis:
    • Mitsubishi Lecture series in surface mining;
    • provision for Rural Scholarship;
    • prize for an undergraduate student on a topic related to surface mining; and
    • support for series of lectures suitable for distance education.
