A tenet of the education system at the School of Mining Engineering, UNSW is the practical application of the theories, concepts and models covered in the programme and the encouragement of behaviour which is consistent with these models. The practical application and behaviour ideals apply particularly in the area of Safety.
All people involved with the School are strongly encouraged to: undertake activities in a safe manner; with an attitude of safety and concern for the well-being of all personnel; and to identify hazards and take such necessary steps to ensure that any hazardous situation is identified and eliminated.
The objectives being that students, staff and visitors to the School will complete their intended study, research and other activities in a safe environment without hard or injury.
